These Japanese kids are from the turn of last century (1900s) I guess. I wonder if the boy on the left is just having a bad day or if he is just being mean. This was originally some stylized depiction of my favorite silent film actress (Tsuru Aoki) and her husband. It appeared in a Western newspaper about a 100 years ago, so the styles are westernized and I find that fascinating 日本 カップル 着物 様式化された日本人夫婦
